There are many things that can change this plan. Getting the features to pass testing is chief among them. I know once you read them the anticipation will be high, and I may regret mentioning them at all, but I thought it would be good to let you in on our plan.
So, this is what is actively being worked on RIGHT NOW:
1. Content Autodownloader - This system is coming along nicely. It includes changes to the toolset to help you package your content and a GUI change to the client so you can monitor the download.
Also, this is being set up to run in the background so that the next feature can be released as well.
2. Haks loading before character creation - This is in early implementation, but things are looking good. It seems to be working fine so far, but full testing is required.
3. Server-side switch to disallow client-side overrides - This one is tricky, but it is in process as well. Again, testing may reveal this to be more problematic than originally expected.
To make sure this all fits the needs of the multiplayer community, we have enlisted GrinningFool to do the development, while we work on SoZ - also because we don't want these features coming out in 2012 - so give him your thanks, but don't harass him too much. Well, maybe a little. |
Maybe everything will be okay after all.
Let's build something, Crawlius. |

But... the toolset loves you. It wants to do things to you. Things best not mentioned in public. _________________

does the game start playing THE FINAL COUNTDOWN when you turn it on
because that'd be the only thing that would pique my interest _________________

I'm sure the toolset has nothing against buttsecks, but it DOES have issues with whatever else is useful on NWN. _________________ All hail the new flesh, cause it suits me fine!

1.23 is still planned for January, though we may do an extended beta with it, since it will contain:
Content autodownloader
Haks loading before character creation
Version checking of PWC files
Adjustments to WASD
and more! |
